Back home in place called Washington state

Well after thirty nine hours of being up, or for the most part of a two day jaunt to get back to the united states, we are home in part anyways...the girls still have to get back to Minnesota and Mimi (Nancy Watson) and Poppi (Chuck Watson) will accompany them shortly, but first comes dropping me off in Richland, Washington. Right now through we are in Seattle, where we started our international flight hopping from back on the eighteenth of this month, and yes we are staying at Chuck's brother's Larry's house again. This morning we spent till nine forty visiting with his sister Carol and her husband Frank who are missionaries in Africa. As I said we started at real close to ten to heading back to Richland along the way we stopped at Snoqualmie pass which is just outside of the Seattle area for a rest stop, the girls ended up with some salt water taffy which they enjoyed till it was lunch time. Which was at a place in Yakima,Washington at a place called MINER'S which is known best by their size of hamburgers among other food that they serve to being BIG SIZED as well. We finally pulled into my place a little after three.
Like I have said
early in these belated postings things will come outta the Blue one those said things is that I have to change up my background plate here at Day life of the Matt yet I seem to recall trying to upload a image here but it was TO BIG to fit but here is what I wanted it to be
,which was from my trip last year to Cuenca Ecuador and would have been nice to see how many hits I would have gotten because of the background plate itself but as I said before it just didn't fit. This time around tough I made all of the ones from Ecuador be six hundred forty by three hundred twenty so they should fit if I wanna use one. Even though I couldn't have one here on site I did have one for the month of May from Ecuador as my desktop and here's what it was .
Yet I bet all of you who came here over this past month tired to figure out the background here
and said to yourselves that is Matt being Matt of course which you'd be right about! One last thing I had failed to notice that when I was making these EXTRA POSTINGS I seem to have forgotten one for tracking my miles, which I will post somewhere in June's listings, also that is why I have June first daily Spidey strip here as well!
So enjoy even though it's out doubly late.

Day qautro at a nice place called the beach

Well today at close to the stroke of ten p.m. we will be gathering our suitcases and carry ons from the international airport here in Guayqauil, Ecuador to head to leaving for the united states. Yet that won't be till four thirty in the afternoon that we leave Playas, Ecuador the other beach we visited at the end of our stay in our adventure here! I've gotta say over the day that we have been here so far I have found that "WE" the girls and I are finally ready I think for a place called home each in our own way, yet we did get to go souvenir shopping one last time (the whole time I was here I didn't think of shopping for anyone expect one little girl I made a promise to about a hair clip or something?, I finally broke down and got three stuffed animals, the other two are for my niece Heidi and her brother Cannon) in fact Chuck had to race back to the store to get mom's lunch which used this type of taxi
to get there. When we left Playas, I just happen to be watching with Pagie and Petra a SPIDER-MAN cartoon from the late nineteen nineties that had a odd thing about it, that was it had a opening of "THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN" cartoon series from two thousand and eight, a little wired wouldn't you think? So after a four and half hours of driving we are back in Guayqauil, Ecuador where we landed two weeks ago....yet it is only seven thirty in the evening and our plane won't leave to close to midnight so we decide to check all of our luggage into a holding locker right at the entrance of the airport. We saw a mall real close by the airport and decided to go see a movie especially that one Jose was hoping to take me to back in Cuenca, called
"Pirates of the Caribbean: on stranger tides" only to find out we would have to leave before the climax of the film and head to the airport at ten fifteen to claim our bags before boarding began. So while mom I took the girls to the food court to get something to eat Chuck waited in line, to try to get some tickets come to find out that the last English airing one had just sold out as we were deciding what we wanted to do for the next two hours of time we had left. After we ate we decided to see what was on the rest of this floor of the mall, I'd happen to see out of the corner of my eye a really cool toy store sorry not a picture was taken ( wish there was one though because this store had two SUPER SIZED posters of both all Marvel and D.C. comic characters, that were sweet) yet not all was lost. While walking around the second floor we had happen to see a 3D exhibit on Dinosaurs that looked interesting to Petra anyway and so I took her and Pagie through it, while Poppi wanted for Mimi to catch up to us. Here are a few reptile friends we saw throughout the exhibit ,

what I almost forgot to share was that at the end of this exhibit was a cool 3D movie of the history of the planet with Dinos in the mix as well. We then went to a bookstore to get some more books for the girls to read on the plane ride back to the USA, I even picked up one too.

Day tric of the beach

Well here is our the start our third day at the Sailnis beach in Ecuador, the girls were promised if we had time today that they could go to a water park here, yet I'm still wondering of the two them DID THEY BOTH stay up LATE last night OR JUST ONE OF THEM, I'm left to wonder I guess? This morning for me though I was up at seven forty five or there about and I had happen to finish the copy of "MORE STORIES FROM THE TWILIGHT ZONE" which if I forgot to say came to me a few days before leaving for this (little vacation) of ours. It was actually Friday the 13th when it arrived Pretty SPOOKY huh? we left a couple days later of course! The book ended with a unreleased Serling story that happen to had a certain city of Washington state mentioned that was fitting!, nah, I'm not telling which one though you gotta buy the book to find out which one? So I'm now starting SPIDER-MAN, DOWN THESE MEAN STREETS, I wonder how I'm going to NOT get it confused with the other one I reading which you all know that one or at least I hope you would??? Anyway after starting that book Chuck had called for a van to pick us up to take us from Sailnis to a beach known as Playas which is a hour and a half away while we ate breakfast we were finally gonna see the dolphins in Playas besides being at still another

beach. Petra also was wanting to show me how good she was at camera control with my digital camera and we made a movie for her of "Orphanage day" if she doesn't that title she can tell me through her mother's Facebook page if she'd like too. Well before I show you the movie of the dolphins I made, which yes I still have to post to youtube as well, here are some images of our place in Playas

where we stayed over a day and a half during our last few days here in Ecuador.

Day at the beach duo

Boy do I feel like a beach bum today and I didn't really get all that wet. Yet those two girls did and boy did they have fun doing it
?, well I guess I will let you decide if they did???!!?? Today is our second day out of day two in Sailnas, Ecuador and I gotta say we without a doubt are not thinking that the end is anywhere in sight or at least I am thinking that....hum I'm just wondering? The girls certainly full of ideas while on the beach they kept trying to build a non flooding castle
,on the beach no less! We most certainly REMEMBERED OUR SUNSCREEN or tired to as best we could? still we had it on while playing under that sun and that is what mattered most! The girls had seen some Ecuadorian children being buried in the sand and both at first wanted to have it done to them as well....so they started digging a hole and I decided to chime
in which they really got a kick out of, when they came back from playing with some new friends in the ocean. Petra was the BRAVE SOUL
,that bared getting buried even though it wasn't truly all that deep. After the beach we went to a nice restaurant where we got to see the BIG GAME of Biliousness Win the south American world cup with a score of three to one. Later closer to sunset we again walked the beach and got more ice cream yet again but the girls decided to do something "THEY KNOW THEY CAN'T DO IN MINNESOTA ANYTIME SOON....., OR EVER" It was to hang by a bungee cord over a trampoline. Here's Petra being unhooked
from her trip in the air, yet here also is Bethany (Pagie) in over her head
or is that " in the air pretty high up!"

Day of beach fun number uno

Today and the next few days are a little off set to make the end of the month of May count posting wise. We are starting our end trek and NO I DON'T MEAN ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS SCI-FI SAGA ,which everyone who reads this knows I love, that also as you can see ends in "TREK". No the Trek, I am referring to is the start of the end of our (and by our I mean me and these two girls

from Minnesota). We got up at six in the morning at the "Guys place" to get showers and any last minute packing that was mostly Chuck there...I'd already pack up my re patched up suitcase,I guess I forgot to share about the couple tears I had found in it from last Wednesday night,at least it was fixed for the return voyage. So we took "Puff Puff" to the girls place at a little after seven, after a very small breakfast for the girls to finish some cereal we had brought two Thursdays ago along with some slippers for them, since the floor is cold in the mornings at their place, we called for two taxis and took them to the Cuenca bus port and rode a bus for four hours to Guayqauil's main bus port. I had happen to get "almost closer done with this ",on the way up there. When we got to Guayqauil we took another bus to the town with the beach known as Sailnas and while checking into our hotel rooms we saw this strange "LOIN there

at the hotel, (NOT REALLY) it was just a dog that had a very interesting coat of fur, besides I think the guy feeding it wouldn't be so close to it "IF IT WAS a REAL LOIN" do you think so? We then went and walked to strip of the beach and we decided to yet again get even more ice cream

,boy do you think the girls can eat all three of those? We then went back to walking along the strip when I had happen to see this guy who draws you as a caricature of yourself and of course the girls decided it would be

cool to take home with them. After that we went to a seafood place to eat our dinner when my mom noticed while we were waiting for our orders
a bus parade of young people came by.

Mom and son time in Cuenca

Hey everyone,
This will be my very last post from Cuenca Ecuador for come tomorrow we leave
to go to the beach in Sailna Guayqauil Ecuador but this is about time that I personally spent with my mother. Two Fridays ago (Poppi) Chuck took the girls to a park with paddle boats and also met some Home schooled kids like the girls are back home in Hillman, Minnesota, we came to find that they met some kids and their mother, who this past Monday had lunch with us at the local Pizza Hutt (there is a story I have to share one day, there are few American restaurants in this part of South America). On that said Friday my mother and I decided to have a mom and son day so we decided that I needed a haircut and on our adventure(s) where ever they may take us that we'd get THAT DONE FOR SURE. First though we tried to see if a place I thought I had eaten at my last two visits here which were in (April 2009 and April 2010) was a place called "California Kitchen", but as it turned out they were having a private party, so we got THAT haircut I was talking about then head for the Kookaburra cafe instead. We had a nice lunch together,I had a BLET (which is a bacon, lettuce, tomato sandwich, what does the "E" stand for your all wondering right?, well it for a egg on the sandwich as well.) Also I had some blackberry juice with it as too, while my mom had a regular BLT with a diet coke, we then decided what we were going to do for the day. That was we went to a museum that is close to a bank that you'd see on that aforementioned Cuenca bus tour I have talk about earlier this month, and on our way to this museum we had just happen to see this weird sign , here is why it is weird, Pizza is from Italy NOT AMERICA as the wording proclaims. Anyway once we got to the museum was closed for something we didn't know but I think was for a private school tour,or so it had seemed from what we could here from outside as we went to see Cuenca's Inca settlement such as this house, my mom suggested we go see the exotic birds which down a hill to the left of this home. Yet I went and wanted to see how the Incains used to grow their food , which was down a hill off to the right while my mom rested and waited for me to come back which was less than fifteen minutes. We then went down to where a lot of exotic birds were
and before I get into a rant of how many "Toucan Sams" I saw which is the bird on the "FRUIT LOOPS" brand of cereal from Kellogg, when first got there we saw a Lama but by the time we left it was gone. Then we took a taxi to Supermaxi which is one if not the biggest grocery store chains in that part of Ecuador to go s
hopping for a dinner on the following Monday with some friends of my folks, but before doing that we went and got some ice cream right next door and here is my mom enjoying her chocolate sundae, while I had a fruit one. When we got back to their place we all exchanged stories of how we spent our day only to find that the girls and Poppi also decided to have a ice cream stop before coming home too.

The Guys place this time around in Cuenca.....

Hey all of those of you wanting adventure in a Far away place for your vacation time of the year should think of a place like Cuenca Ecuador. Yet there are many things you should know about this part of south America and that is like many who visit here do tend to find that they like it so much that you may wish after a lifetime of hard work you would like to reside here preeminently. Like I said through you would need many things before just diving into it, you would need to get a visa to become a outside citizen of (ANY COUNTRY YOUR NOT BORN IN) if (ANY SAID COUNTRY REQUIRES YOU TO GET ALL VACCINATIONS, YOU MUST DO IT, EVEN IF YOU'VE ALREADY HAD THEM FROM WHEN YOU WERE BORN) then, lets say you still have family that (YOU) have in your own country that is still young but wants to visit you (THEY WHOMEVER THEY ARE MUST GO THROUGH WHAT YOU DID TO COME SEE YOU). I think somewhere I have gotten off the beaten path of where I was going with this post, so sorry about that! This place as I have said earlier this week is about four blocks from where they are living. Here they live on the top floor which is the sixth, but let me share something with you about buildings here in Ecuador where people live they all have a subbasement parking levels. Chuck told me that for some reason he couldn't find the garage remote to open the other place, when we first got here on last Wednesday that night we had some take out Chicken from just behind the other place which I never told you the name before but it is "Los Almondas" which means "The Almond tree complex" yet as I have tried to throw in another distraction about talk of the other place I'm still am lost for words I guess how to talk about El Molle which I can tell you I don't know it's whole English meaning although on our returning trip to the united states I will find it out and tell you all what it is.... I do think I should show all you what this place looks like because after all words can only do so much in telling any story so here we go , this is their gaming table where when friends come over they can play cards or whatever they choose. Just aside from the gaming table is this very nice couch center piece where you can see even new guests can enjoy a nice time. Here is their kitchen which just across from the gaming table and across from their couch seen above, and if you look out the kitchen window you can see the sun setting terrace
yet on the other side of the kitchen is their washroom of where they do they laundry and here what it's like. Now since I don't have photos of their entertainment room or a bedroom shot of their two of those, I will leave you with them and their princesses granddaughters overlooking the start of a sunset from our second day here in Cuenca Ecuador.
