Last bit of Hollywood and a place called OLD TOWN....(part Zum,Zum californa dreaming number 9)

Hello traveling voyagers with me Matt Byrd on this Californian road trekking trip,
So as you all know last time on this vacation hitter of stories I had said we saw the paved stars in the sidewalk along Hollywood Blvd and Vine street in the city known in the forties and fifties as the movieland of the whole world. Well before I begin our time in San Diego, and what we did there I have to say two very important last things about being there, One is that on our first Hop on and Hop Off tours I was trying so very hard to get the Paramount water tower to no end I just was at a lost till yesterday's east side tour of China town when at one passing Conner I saw the gates to umm the filming studios from everything  as "

:1953,WAR OF THE WORLDS" and these two movies from the early nineteen eighties one of a kid named Ren who teaches a town about the fun of dancing again in ":

1984 FOOTLOSE" and going all out silly at any given time how is this for a Paramount film one simply called  "

:1984, TOP SECRET" oh and a small television and film franchise that started airing now over to close to fifty years between five television series and twelve movies....I think you all know what I'm about to say right? Well if not here is photo clue:
for you? Something called "PIGS IN SPACE" no wait that sounds to Muppetly doesn't it?, or how  this   "BATTLESTAR GAlACTICA" oh that's right that was really to rival something known as STAR WARS (Which both of those had a slight twisted fate of there own to a certain degree....Ah Yes I know it now it's a series called: Star Trek which has been running in four of those five television incarnations since September eight, nineteen sixty six.  Also for anyone who doesn't follow this very blog should know it is filled with Trek knowledge in unbounding ways because well I do have a great love for it! On that very turn as I was saying before I not only got the studio's water tower finally but the gates to the property

itself. Chuck had said "If I had planned on us being in Hollywood longer than just two days I would have booked us a tour of the famed studio....ah well there always another time" and I agreed  even though it would have been nice to of done if we could. Now the one thing I for sure don't want be accused of is being in tinsel town as Hollywood's true nick name is and say I didn't grab or get a shot with my camera of the famous sign over looking the whole city and I think you know the one that I mean.

I got two grand shots of this one each day the one from yesterday was from on the Hop ON and Hop OFF tour. The other was on foot when we were at West Sunset Blvd. where we could also se the Capitol Records

building too.
Now I really do promise for the time being I am very much moving beyond Hollywood and onward to our drive to San Diego, which is where before in part two I had said I saw a building with my nephew Cannon's name on it while on the bus ride to the BART in Oakland to Dublin California, where my sister and my nephew Bryce are living. Well it just so happens that I saw that a few roads away from entering San Diego that my nephew Cannon has a whole road named for him yet we were going by at such a spanning pace I couldn't get a shot of it for him to see himself owning a road in the   Golden state of California. Once we finally pulled into San Diego I was able to get this cool and refreshing shot of boats out in a place we were now visiting called Old Town.

We had  a lot of fun here of learning about the part of San Diego that was yet to be part of California just before the time of the Gold Rush event of the late eighteen forties. Old Town was founded in seventeen sixty nine by a man named Gaspar de Portia while both San Diego and California still hadn't yet been part of the United States itself, in fact California the state wasn't admitted till September ninth of the year of eighteen fifty by then the Gold rush of California was in full swing by eighteen forty eight in Sierra Nevada  was where it started. When San Diego was starting out it was this very city was San Diego, Chuck and I went on the tour of the town in which we learned a lot about the beginnings of
the bank known as Welles Fargo. Then as well about the justice in the town in fact here is what the inside of the court house

and the jail. We went also to another part of Old Town that had a haunted house that again both Chuck and  I were the  two of the three of us that braved our souls in the spooky place that even a certain Great Dane and his four human pals  known as
Daphne Blake, Fred Jones, Norville "Shaggy" Rogers, and Velma Dinkley and of course the Great Dane was called Scooby Doo and they would solve a great mystery  of a place being haunted by spirits of the past. In this very scary place of  Old Town just from some the photos of the owners

which  were named Whaley you might be wise not to enter this place. As for me though,  while on these vacations with my mom Nancy Powers Watson and my step father Chuck Ross Watson over the past couple of years I have overcome a great many sets of different emotional reactions since I was a little kid the and main one is over coming fear of seeing and doing things that are new to me, and stop reacting based on fear alone. Here are some of the rooms from the Whaley homestead now tell me don't you feel something when your viewing them like a sense of creepiness about the place

maybe even a little? .

The other part of our Hop on Hop Off trek.....(Day two in ZuM, Zum Universe tale)....or Part 8 of Californa driving)

Hello Everyone following this car trekking trip so far.......
What was I thinking of last time I was writing with our adventure of being in a part of  Los Angeles county most revered cities within Los Angeles itself? I am speaking of the town with in Los Angeles known as Hollywood of course. I was sharing of our walking on the stars  of well not this kind
seen here zipping by at the speed of  being trapped in a tunnel of space at all. Although those that know me very well know I  wouldn't mind being a student of learning even more about Time traveling if it were an actual probability. No the very stars that I am talking of through are the ones that start at this very structure seen here
which is located at  Hollywood Blvd and  Vine in Hollywood California, when I was talking of also a grand bus tour called a Hop on and Hop Off that took us all around West Hollywood itself. That very ticket we bought at seven forty-five still had some time on it, so this morning we again walked on a Connor of the walk of frame that we didn't yesterday and these are a few of what I got before boarding the tour bus.

Oh and don't worry before I'm done with saw on the East side of Hollywood I will show you all the one star that I came to get a photo of. On this part of the tour that we were on we saw the famous  Walt Disney Music/concert hall
along with finding out that this part of Los Angeles is where it is the only place where you can find three cultures of the human race getting along. When in two the three diverse backgrounds wouldn't get along for the most part in their own countries, the three that I'm speaking of  are
the country that one my good friend's is from Korea and yes that is for you my friend named Chan Hu, and we also went through Hollywood's own little  China where I got a great shot of this dragon archway as we passed under it.
I also was able to get a couple of neat shots  of this very striking Martial Artist in one the Chinese restaurants as we passed through
Chinatown. When we came upwards towards the Japanese areas the city was locking off that section because of road work. Yet I  wanna think that it was on our way to being on the road to from San Simion California that we had heard on the radio of the artist called  Prince's passing and while on this side of our Hop on Hop Off  bus tour I got a cool bit of respect for him. Seen right
here, now before I tell you that we are yet again ready to as Optimus Prime told his fellow Autobots pals in each episode of the original Transformers cartoon series ......."Autobots Transform and Roll Out" I have to show you my reason for choosing the Walk of fame as my real reason for coming here and it is  this right here

The man who was part of making (not alone of course) the words and plots for the created universe that is opposite of that one known the characters of Superman, Green Arrow, The Flash, and so on of vast comic book characters their universe is known as The D.C. universe or  as Detective Comics. Where as Stan Lee wrote most the beginnings of the Marvel comics titles from nineteen sixty one till about nineteen seventy, his more notable characters are The Rhino, Doctor Otto Octavius, The Green Goblin, did you see what I did there to separate the two main comic universes?  One last thing I really noticed around Hollywood besides Hamburger joints as we were heading towards San Diego was a lot of doughnut shops at almost every corner.......

The sidewalk of Many famous ...well Stars (pt.7 of 17 Zum,Zum of that little thing called a two week break!)

Hello to all who endeared thus journey so far of this very trek to the starry road,
Well to say that we are at the halfway point of my vacation for two thousand and sixteen isn't an understatement we of course are. Yet I still feel I haven't gotten you my dear readers up to date on everything picture wise or if your late to the party so far I wish I knew how to draw you in ever more so.....here is a small recap in pictures so far

Oops, wrong set of pictures that I seem to of tossed into this trek, when these were from my adventure last year, so silly of me this was what I was meaning to put in this area were

these of being in two other parts of the Golden State. My folks and I got here to the old part of Los Angles known as HOLLYWOOD just
at three forty five pm yesterday afternoon, what we were originally going be doing when we planned for this trip was go to universal  studios and have a whole experience of  seeing the world of that boy wizard created by J.K. Rowling. We had decided instead of going to that theme park called The Wizarding world of Harry Potter when planning this whole vacation, to see the Hollywood  walk of  the stars of fame, which is located at Hollywood Boulevard and runs for three blocks all the way to Vine street in the city. That was way back during the month of February that we had it all locked into place. One thing that I had been wanting to do since we had touched down on the Oakland, California tarmac last Saturday the twenty fourth of this month and started our adventure really in Dublin with seeing these two wonderful

people, my younger sister Kylie Byrd and her son Bryce Henrikson , on our second day of this  vacation we went and put uncle Matt Byrd where I really belong on the island prison known as

Alcatraz....but in all seriousness the one thing besides all of this traveling that we are doing, I have had wanted to try out one of those little restaurants known as "IN-N-OUT" with Bryce and still till we got here to Hollywood itself we still had not ventured towards one. After finding out that we had to change our hotel reservations from the Days Inn instead of the Comfort Inn we all decided to go eat at this

located 7009 Sunset Blvd which in Hollywood was just behind where we were staying. Here is what it looked like on the inside

so if you think one isn't so busy ever well just think again....we took our food back to our hotel room and went about planning our day of the many choices we had, besides just the nice walk of the famous starred up sidewalk and we looked on the internet to see where the stars I WAS WANTING TO SEE WERE located at and with that here is some of those very stars

of all of the many stars that I grabbed pictures of I bet that if your a true fan of Star Trek of the whole original series mainly didn't just catch that in my first salvo of the stars I Phasered captain Christopher Pike into they foray.... If your not a Trek fan can you guess which these stars is the true actor's real name that played Christopher Pike?  Also while out and about I had myself a couple shots with two True Hollywood hunks

,well I thought they were outright cool anyway! We went back to our hotel for a small amount of rest and to charge our batteries on my digital camera, so about hour of waiting and trying to decide if we wanted to see a movie in actual Hollywood we had chosen to do a Hop on Hop off  bus tour around the whole city, on that ride we got to see some great things like CBS television taping studio .

We while on this tour got to see a part of downtown known as Beverly Hills and learned a lot about two movies it was apart of  the first being Beverly Hills cop films series and Legally Blonde one and two.

At the same time we also saw Hollywood's comedy start up lounge, and the area of those who are gay hang out as well. When we were going through Melrose many streets there was a chance for me to grab a photo of a comic book store that I remember since I was collecting way back in my late teens the shop's name is "HE GOLDEN APPLE" and wouldn't you know I missed completely. When the tour was over we had chosen to eat here

but it was getting too nippy for my folks and we walked over to a Hawaiian restaurant that was closer to our hotel for the night, Since Mel's Drive In was three miles from our place anyway.
 To Be Continued......

(Maybe even tonight so I can keep the rest of the trip lined up right as well)
