Finally for me a Very early McFarlane first....... (1 of 6)

Hello All,
Okay I want you to know that for whatever reason besides having to feel obligated to my brother's love of similar interests in "the way of unanswered conversations" which I have to write out about comics themselves. An the last comic review I had about the comic universe of the Detective Comics was part of a media tied to the video game known as "INJUSTICE". This  review will by chance lead into the start of the forth coming month better known as candy day on the last day of the month. Earlier today my friend Jeremy Johnson and I went to both Hastings and Adventures Underground to see what is new in comics in general, in fact here is what I got from Adventures

at Hastings I got the two Star Trek Next Generation hardcover novels titled "DARK MIRROR", and "CROSSOVER" that were written within a two year span of when the series ended in  nineteen ninety four. I have wanted to read each of  these for a long time, both are part interesting parts on the whole of Star Trek universe. I'm thinking before the end of the year I will have a post of each novel reviewed. Yet as you all see I have old school McFarlane bit of images just to show his other type of works that made him famous from Marvel:

an his own work through IMAGE COMICS, known as SPAWN. This review however is on Todd's work before being super big story arc for a Detective Comics before his work on Batman year two, which I have in storage and will pull up soon as a comic review. INVASION! SECRET NO MORE! was a DC three book event that involved a huge story of Todd's chance to draw the whole Detective Comic universe. Here is
the cover of the trade spread out.
Book one of this event has a race of aliens known as the dominion (not to be confused with Star Trek's DS-9 race of the same name from the end of season two onward....but no less has the same intentions none the less against the planet earth.), have a group of fifty humans standing in a lab of their own design on the far away planet known as dominion world being tested to see if any of them have a genetic anomaly t hat would end up in some way of giving them super powers of any kind?, when the test is complete there is only a human boy left of the forty nine other humans as to what happen to him is unknown that I know of. The dominion send out a call around the universe to all warlike aliens with great promise of the end game of all out ultimate war!
Now as I have said before when I first started collecting comics in the late eighties for me it was just Spider-Man that mattered to me no matter what and even though I had been exposed to the other main comic universe at the time which was D.C. of course through other forms of media it was the world of Peter Parker that kept me coming back month after month. Yet what broke my ties to even caring about Mister Parker's world was a story that doesn't fit for the character at all known as "One More Day" in the end of the year known as 2007. I will admit I have tried to read new Spider-Man stuff but it is MORE FORCED than enjoyed by the fans of the character. Still I can't just give up on my love of the four colored worlds of comics because my main one is being a snooty trapped devil child that can't be himself at all, I have ventured into not only the Detective Comics universe of old more but even independent publishers that are still fairly new to me at least. I would give this first chapter since it is so dark an A- but very much so without a doubt because of Todd's art!

To be continued.......
