will always be? A explorer of life just as we all are.....in our own ways
Hello all,
Today happens to be a blessed but sadden day for friends and family who cared about the man who was named Lyle Francis Watson, whom passed on to heaven back just on the third of this very month. As you all know for the past few weeks I have taken time to devote a lot of my own special memories of my step brother with what we both have a liking for while here on planet earth. We had Lyle's service put together by his family outside of his own blood one since they care for him for the longest amount of time. The service was at the Olympia building in Kennewick Washington it started at one pm and ended at four pm. You would think that I couldn't say anymore about a brother that shared many things with me over our time of living on earth because we did have a lot in common but as I know almost every day brings something new to one's perspective on life as a whole. My brother Micheal had asked me for a set of photos of Lyle so he could put them into the slide show that began with this image seen here
After the presentation was over, those who want to say a meaningful goodbye to their friend could my brother had a mike that you could speak into and say "How Lyle made you feel or how you were inspired by Lyle's gentleness". His cousin Arnie who is the little boy with the red coat on in the picture talked of how he and Lyle would play with computers and Legos in the late seventies, and how Lyle was at making a set of rules for role playing games, one in particular was
this super early make your own character role playing game from 1978 called Champions that by the time they had it figured out they played it only once. One other thing Arnie shared was Lyle's love of finding out how to change a computer's programs to Lyle's way of thinking, one time when Arnie's family visited here in Richland in the late seventies Lyle had a game much like Pong on the old Commodore 64 that he put a small pattern change into the game so that every time you tried to catch the bleeping ball with the stick that ran across the bottom of the board when you hit the space bar to move it after a twenty second delay after two minutes time it would vanish then reappear again. They tried it on one of Lyle's other friends at the time and it took him about a hour before he figured out what was going on. A lot of other friends of Lyle spoke very meaningfully about how he was a good part of their very lives and how they not only came to know and respect him, but also their very love for the one who knew how to just be a nice fellow. Lyle was if you couldn't guess from the above part about Role playing games was a fixture at a event in Pasco, Washington every year called R@d Con. It consisted of many things besides the role playing that Lyle loved, it is always held in the month of February each year. When it was knowing and worth sharing I took a moment as well to reflect on Lyle's life by saying this "I'm one of Lyle's step brothers and I want to say that he and I both loved science fiction to the utmost especially anime cartoons one called STAR BLAZERS! Go forever Argo" There was a neat story of how Lyle got a ride to his barbershop for a hair cut by the city police that one his times of taking photos almost got him put into the slammer, that one the many people Lyle lived with over the course of his later adult life sharred and had everyone in tears, because a female senior citizen thought he Lyle was a Peeping Tom near her apartments when all Lyle was doing was taking photos of the sky that day. He showed the police what was on his camera and they offered after the mistake to help him out since Lyle was detained from getting his hair cut.
One of Lyle's favorite foods to munch on was M&M's and a two litter of Coke Cola was a must!, An he was a lover of potato chips of any kind but mostly hot ones as well as Doritos of all sorts as well. One of Lyle's many friends went online and searched and found a wide variety of blue colored M&M's for his service seen here
we also had not a round of coke cola in a two litter sense for everyone, rather a small paper cup toast to Lyle someone you could trust to be a helping friend if YOU EVER NEEDED ONE. Lyle worked in stage and lighting of plays when just out of high school which lead him into another love of his back just after graduating at Columbia Basin Collage in nineteen eighty eight which was put his joy of role playing and stage set up tearing down work in a yearly production known as The Ye Merrie Greenwood Renaissance Faire, here is the promo
poster from last year and here is this year's one
Lyle would help as I said in making sure that sets were right and also helped with storing it all back into place. He would also take part in the many events that they would do over the two day event to let out his inner child need here are some of Lyle's Merrie Greenwod Faire friends
with his sister Merri, who is wearing the blue dress in the center. Now before I have told ye that Lyle Love'th cats well here is a picture I took of his one known as Six
there was one cat that I heard that had a super long name is the best that I can say for sure of a homeless one from years ago. His family friends of the Ye Merrie bunch went an did a cheer for Lyle from the ol Monty Python skit of the Holy Grail, which Lyle based his love of Comedy off of most of all that I even recall. When his Life Celebration, was over his many family and friends had a way of remembering him best by grabbing one or more of his role playing dice
that he collected over his many years of gaming. We his blood family then went over to Old Country Buffet at six and had a great time remembering Lyle while enjoying a what we want choice of meal. Arnie went and took some of the best photos of the Byrd side of the family and can you say had fun with his eye candy app on his phone from
these images of yours truly.... he later made all of them which included Heidi and her dad my brother Micheal as well, into a cool comic strip.
