Hello All,
I've been thinking a whole bunch lately on how we as humans take everything we know to be all out important in every part of life, mainly because of my step brother Lyle's passing away because of a brain blood clot on his brain since this past Sunday. Now I know that with having a sibling when you are young more times than not there is fighting to without a doubt see who is right whether you are or not? and as I have said before I was rather lucky in life for the first elven years of my life I was the oldest of three. An then in late ninety eighty four a young girl by the name of Merri was our babysitter at the time that was how I first came to know a small bit of my soon to extended family. It wasn't until about March of nineteen eighty five that I met my soon to be older brother Lyle, had a friend with him that was a couple years older than he was named Matt Copper who was always drawing comic book characters of some sort and he and Lyle were great pals as I recall for both of them had drawn me back into the fold of loving superheroes yet again. I remember after my mother Nancy Watson had introduce to Merri and Lyle's father Chuck Watson, but back in those days Micheal, Kylie, and I just called him Mister Watson this was of course out of respect since we as kids didn't know him at all just as our mom's new square dancing partner from at the old y building over in Kennwick Washington. It was coming close to May in that year when Mom and Mister Watson told all of kids that we were going to be a family because they decided to both get remarried to each other, for each of us as kids we all had our own way of dealing with grief and worry of how our other parent would get along in life or at least that was on my mind a lot, then came our family units being joined, we had it at the Richland Community House which still stands today over by Howard Amon Park.
Mister Watson walk out first up to the judge, then Lyle held his sister Merri hand and walk up to where Mister Watson was, then Micheal and Kylie strode down in a silly way to the Judge then it was my turn with my mother at my arm to accept her love for this guy known only as Mister Watson to my thirteen year old self. When all was said and done WE the children all had our own set of vows just as our new father had to our mother and vice verse Lyle and Merri with their new mother and boy were those ever fun for sure. Then came time for changes for Lyle since at the time he was nearly force for at the time to live on his own he did it better than I let's just say. As I took his room and made it mine over many years of time, still when he came back I would share it with him when and if he wanted too. Lyle had this cool cave like bed that were painted in purple and gold on the main framing that it was built out of and inside the cave he had a blue light bulb where he had spent most of his time reading his many books. Which turned out to be science fiction or fantasy related.
When I was really little at the age of seven and eight I had seen this cartoon called Star Blazers and I remember hearing a story of how Lyle and Merri were shown that learning was truly important it turns that their father and had gotten a coin dispenser and had attached it to their television set and Lyle must of helped him put the cable junction feeder into the coin dispenser. Then Mister Watson was able to regulate how much time could be spent watching any type of program on the television. Merri had RED painted quarters and Lyle had of course BLUE ones..... I'm not really sure if I recall hearing this before we lived on the east coast or after or maybe both but I do know it was the first time of knowing Lyle's favorite color was mine as well from that very bit of Watson history. Lyle without a doubt was always very creative for sure no matter what he was cool with a heart of real passion for friendship and family and I'm glad to say I knew him as both!
