Hello all,
Well the picture seen here
, is without a doubt from way back on a very special night for yours truly, that very night being the night the class of Hanford High's class of the year "1991" faded into what is known as life. Now twenty three years later it has an equally same powerful meaning for me! The meaning of course relates to what all hope will come with ease the passage of being welcomed home when one's duties on earth are assumed over.....
For those who haven't heard my elder step brother Lyle Watson had had a blood colt on his brain just a couple of days ago. He was rushed to Kadlec hospital in Richland, Washington by his loving friends who run the Tri Cities yearly summer event known as the "Ye Merrie Greenwood Renaissance Faire", which takes place around the time of when the Hydro plane Columbia Cup boat races and the Allied Art show in the last week of every July. Yesterday as you all know I went and wore my heart on my shelve and was asking that anyone who is dealing with the grief of lost of a love one to really think and pray for that love one to be with God. Today even though I should keep my praising to myself of what I had shared with Lyle as I saw him hooked up to the life support machine in the Intensive Care Unit last night when my mom and Chuck Lyle's father gave me a choice of "Just saying goodbye in my heart to him or seeing him and letting Lyle know that "I his step brother Matt Byrd", am assured his time on planet earth was and always will be well remembered with memories of grand love, no matter what! "
So of course I did have my folks take to the Kadlec after I got of from work, at Albertsons, on the way there in the car ride over they told me what the doctors had told them and my brother Michael and his wife Kathie. Which was "Lyle had a blood clot some time through out the early hours of the morning of this past Sunday while in his REM sleep pattern. The blood clot had expanded at some point and pushed Lyle's frontal cortex upon rupturing off of it's place. An filled that stretched open space with blood because it couldn't go anywhere and that pressure from all that blood made the reasoning center of his brain press against his top portion of his skull. When the doctors were reliving the clot they had to remove the whole right portion of Lyle's skull to do what they could to get at their main area of work. With the frontal cortex of the brain out of place a human being can't remember every day things like their own name and are always going to be in a unconscious state for a long while, if not ever to come out of a peaceful sleep, better known as a coma."
Now here is what I said to my brother Lyle as I saw the life support machine doing it's job. "Lyle, you and l your step brother Matt Byrd have had the same kind of love of many things, particularly anything or everything science fiction related, to us both enjoying the Asian art called Anime. I also told Lyle how much I love him as a fellow human being outside of our family relationship as brothers. I shared with him that HE is now the captain of any "Enterprise of his choice of registry number....or any Star Trek ship that HE also loves best outside of Starfleet. Then I remembered as well the one time he made me the best birthday card ever, I even shared that I'm slowly learning about role playing card games, the whole time or most of it I held his hand to let heaven know that I'm ready to accept what I know that Lyle's in the place where he is forever safe."
After I was done sharing my rightful moments with Lyle and had a few leaky tears on my mother's shoulder and cleaning my hands with a sanitation gel and wipes, the three of us had headed over to Shari's restaurant on George Washington way for some much needed food. While there we got a call from Chuck's daughter Merri saying she is in Spokane, and will be here on the following day!
