Hey all,
I know that I have talked about Peter Parker's love live a few times before in the monthly comic book that was started in February nineteen sixty two with Amazing Fantasy #15. Then because the character was so great in sales nine months later he was granted his own title known as the Amazing Spider-Man, which is of course still running today forty some odd years later. I want to compare the two Spider-Man histories to see what I and you think should be the current way the character should be? Now please recall that the newspaper strip didn't start till 1/3/77 so maybe I'm just outta whack but please go with me on this and lets solve if rather Mr. Parker should be Married or single? In the comic universe before meeting Mary Jane Watson,
Stan had one other definite gal he wanted Parker to hook up with Gwen Stacy
but did you know Stan had to other possible love interest for his little wall crawler as well in high school friend Liz Allen.
She was first in all honestly the only girl Peter liked in a loving way from his high school days at Midtown High. Also in the comicverse there was the secretary
that works with him at the Daily Bulge Betty Brant. Of course even in the very beginnings of newspaper strip Betty was and has been the only girl from the comics to transfer over with MJ to that medium. Also from day one in that form of Spidey's world Mary Jane has been the main love out looking love type, but NOT the only one. In the early days of the newspaper strip for a while Mary Jane was with Kraven the hunter, while Peter filled his time up with working at the Bulge and going to collage where one day in the Library he meets
Carole & Tana. We come to find out that Tana is the daughter of a terrorist as we read the strip. And Carole is like able like Allen or Brant is in the comics. Yet our little web head likes the bad one with out even knowing it. As seen here when offer a teaching job
,(there is another posting right there more on that later.) Please remember this is from the first volume of Spider-Man newspaper strips, where I got these but as the series grew because this only covers the first two years. As the newspaper strip grew so did Parker's relationships with other female companions since Mary Jane was off modeling or trying to be a actress most of that given time. She also did this in the monthly comics as well, and you all know what had happen to poor Gwen in the comics, she died at the hand of the Green Goblin. So Marvel started bringing new female characters in the comic books to rival Mary Jane's absent for a long time, most noticeably
the black cat. The characters weren't involved with one another of Peter Parker or Mary Jane in the dating scene at all in the year 1987 in the monthly comics. Lee had decided it was time for his "Charlie Brown" to settle down with his woman known as Mary Jane Watson, so he wanted the two trying in together of the storyline of the monthly comics and his daily newspaper strip. Which worked fine till editor in chief Joe Queasda comes along to reboot Marvel out of some low woes. At first Queasda see nothing wrong with the Marriage of the Parkers. After the event known as CIVIL WAR which can be read about in a upcoming posting titled "What got me into reading comics again, is a little book known as "CIVIL WAR". So after twenty one years of being married Queasda bring out "One More Day" which becomes the most hated Spidey story ever. Stan Lee follows suit with the newspaper strip starting with this very strip on
January 1st 2009 with a single Peter Parker living with Aunt May instead him being married to his True Love MJ. Boy did the fans go through the roof ya bet your web shooters they did. And after all the holing Stan made things so much better for the true believers of Spidey fandom. While the monthly comics continue to sink in greater numbers every time one comes out. So whom is better a Parker that is a married one or a single one here's my own answer: The writer you like best. "oh just so you all know it has taken Queasda two whole years to get out a story called O.M.I.T. which stands for (One. Moment. In. Time.)" will it continue to sink Marvel's flagship character into the ground. Probably...Who really knows?
Hey All,
Originally this was going to be about all of Spider-Man's different loves from comic books vs the daily newspaper strip. Instead this is about something that happen to me personally just this very morning at the Men's fellowship breakfast I attend every Saturday at The Cathedral of Joy. We were having a different type of sermon, we have had another like it only once of a video presentation after having breakfast, that I truly know of. Well what that sermon was about was a eye doctor helping others in Ethiopia who are blind. As I was watching the video/slide show I felt my head really perspiring, it turn out the air conditioning wasn't working quite yet in the part of the building we were in. While this was going on I'm still trying to get use to my new glasses and I took them off for just a second and the next thing I know everyone of the guys were around me and were propping my legs onto a chair. I had blackout for a few seconds and had a brief seizing moment of just a seizure. They tried to have a blood pressure wrapped around my arm only to find it didn't work, they however have someone there whose a citizen medic who knew how by touch to take a pulse and wrote it down so that doctors could know what it was at the time of happenstance. They all finished the meeting around me (talk about a sure fire way of getting attention huh?) My friend Kendall had first took me to Physician's immediate care and my friend Paul Elmler followed as well. We took the Church's wheelchair so I could be steadied mobile while getting around. it turn out that they didn't have the proper exam materials at Physician's immediate care so they sent us to Kadlac hospital in Richland I had to help direct Kendall there because it had been a long while since he'd been there and besides he knows Kennwick General hospital area a lot better. So once there I asked him to please stay with me till I knew what was going on. He had a heck of a time trying to find member of my family (but that was my fault for forgetting my Trac phone at home) He had at by 10:45 found and contacted my brother Micheal through the number I gave him for my sister in law Kathie's work number. We my brother & I were there till almost one pm before they release me. One thing I won't forget about the whole thing was my brother had asked me was "SO, When are you thinking of getting married?" He was being both funny and serious with his questioning of course, because what if they can't get in contact with immediate family what would/will happen if no one were to be there to help me. I know many people who can drive to help if needing them is necessary but who knows one's medical history better than one's significant other outside of one's own doctor. Which by the way my mother's friend is going to be helping me find one early Monday before I have to work. here what my hand looked like for most of today.
Micheal & I went to "WING STOP" after my day in the hospital and my mother's mentioned friend from earlier helped me fill out my needed prescription at Rite Aid earlier tonight. Just think about this, I also had a choice to go fishing up on the snake river just image the chaos that would have been going on that way, good thing I didn't go huh?
Hey There,
Has anyone ever had a really bad outlook on how they live their own life from time to time?, sure I think everyone will and does have a really frustrating time to look at from different ways of looking at life, but I don't want to talk about that right now. This morning after talking to a friend earlier the week helped to show me we all need to see a bigger picture of how we see others that we interact with on a daily basis, since I've been wanting to continue with developing my skills as a writer: the other friend I was talking with brought over a book that we were emailing other about called the Artist Way,
I have known of this book for a very long time since nineteen ninety in fact. When I was in high school my art instructor Mrs. Mohatt had a copy around her daily art classes at Handford high school to help drive or at least show greater aspects for being a artist of any kind. From what she was teaching it was mostly graphically influenced and you can believe me when I say I still love to draw. Yes in the above image also is a part of my "CLONE OF ME" story with the book. My second encounter with the book came in the year nineteen ninety nine when my mother and Chuck my step father went to go visit her cousin Bo Bartlett in Seattle Washington, when he suggested to my mother Nancy to get this book for Matt because he knew how much art also influenced me as it does him she brought it as a way of love for the medium for a upcoming artist. ("Thank you for that mom by the way") Anyway this morning I wanted to start reading this along with my current Star Trek over sized novel. Which I will after publishing this blog post, but I also want to say I came up with a way to bring a new Spider-Man feature to Day Life of the Matt what is it you'll have to wait just a bit to find that out? Also today I saw as it was starting to rain at fourish I saw a cool bolt of lighting that was just outright awesome I gotta say. Then how can I say a day isn't complete with the brightness of shoppers at Albertson's both young in my eyes no matter what! First there was my little friend Mason who in a little over a week from now will be a BIG Brother to Axel so. While bagging five check stands from self checkout I heard this little voice. At first I didn't recognize who it was at first he was saying my name and I was already done with bagging for that cashier so I grabbed his little hand and escorted him and his mother out to their car. While I was doing this he was running his whole other hand up my arm like a jellyfish I remember asking him did he like his Spider-Man finger puppet I gave him a few visits ago, he said "Yeah" his mother said "It was diffidently something very unique in how it was so detailed in it's handiwork. Then after work I help my friend June who has had her second knee surgery in the past week shop. So see everyday can be special in all kind of ways? how was your day by the way?
