or rather the actor whom
portrays the said captain read on to find out.......
Hello to all STAR TREK fans,
I hope that you like these rare times of when I throw in a celebrity's birthday out on my blog here at http://daylifeofthematt.blogspot.com/ for I think anybody and everyone deserves to be Happy on their given date that is meant for them alone, regardless if they are a star or not. Well today happens to be a star of the greatest (well to me anyway, Star Trek) now I know your scathing your heads and saying to yourself I thought that writer at this site loved all things Trek? You would be right too! Here is why I love the series called DS 9 is because of a thing known as continuity of a storyline thread. Today happens to be the starfleet officer Benjamin Lafayette Sikso's actor Avery Brooks was born on this date in nineteen forty eight which makes him today sixty four years old. Now anyone who is anybody must remember that his character Ben always called a character played by Terry Farrell & Nicole deBoer what? Yes it will be okay if you have to look it up for the answer. Before his days as Sisko on he play along side Robert Urich as Hawk
in a series called "Spencer for Hire" which ran from nineteen eighty five to nineteen eighty nine, the role won him his own solo series as called " A MAN CALLED HAWK". There were four tel-movies that came after Avery's own series and he played his character in each one. Avery was born to Eva Lydia Crawford and Samuel Brooks in Evansville Indiana. His mother was a Chorale conductor and a musical instructor his father worked when he was born as Union official for Tool and Die workers. The family move to Gary Indiana where Samuel later found work on CBS radio for ten years. His character Ben Sisko was the best of all the other captains of Star Trek lore because unlike James Kirk who was never there for his son David Marcus or like Jean Luc Picard's experience with a alien probe in the Next Gen episode "The Inner Light" both of those sons died because of either a alien's race choice for vengeance or having the whole alien race die out, Now I will be honest I know Kathryn Janeway had family but in VOYAGER we never learn of her offspring unless you count the time Q tried to trick her into bearing a little Q offspring and as for Jonathan Archer of ENTERPRISE the series was so short we learn pretty much nothing of the main characters as far I know of. Sisko had a son named Jake whom he had to worry about because he lived with him on the station. Avery got to play two alter egos of his Sisko character that were just down right awesome in season three of the series he play Gabriel Bell in the two parter called Past Tense". Then in season six his alter ego was Benny Russell when he experienced hi second Bajoran orb encounter in the series in "FAR BEYOND THE STARS". Here
is a Sisko wallpaper with everything he was throughout the series and yes I forgot to mention he was a Kilngon as well as meeting Kirk in Star Trek's thrifty anniversary special episode entitled "TRIALS AND TRIBBLE-ATIONS".
As for when was Ben Sisko himself born was in the year Twenty thrifty twoHe was born on Earth to Sarah Sisko and Joseph Sisko in New Orleans. Like other captain of Trek one of his main things he loves is the game of baseball.
So whatever you are doing these days Mr Avery Brooks I hope you have a great sixty fourth birthday and thanks for being Benjamin Sisko for Trek fans world wide!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
