An American comic Icon in Ecuador!

Hey Everybody,
I know I left you all with my last posting stuck in a place called Cuenca Ecuador, without finishing my my story from Guayaquil Ecuador when I was last in Ecuador visiting with my folks from last year in two thousand nine. What had happen was when we were going through customs to enter the country of Ecuador my step dad Chuck had brought a sewage pump for one of their toilets for their place in Cuenca. It had taken till about one thirty in the morning before we could leave the airport altogether Chuck had to barer with the customs official to pay to bring the sewage pump into Ecuador turned out to be one hundred and fifty dollars in U.S. currency. What is funny about the whole situation was is that for the past two years my folks were able to bring lots of things into the country without going through customs. I want to tell you that we went to a huge mall in downtown Guayaquil that had a few strange things in it like this my alien buddy and of course there in a side shop besides that one I happen to have found some of my favorite American comic Icon Spider-Man shampoo I guess? Or is this a water bottle? I tell you at the end of this posting what it turned out be because at this time I wasn't so sure what it was either. Also I got a great shot of my folks at that mall as well.Then in Cuenca we went to a mall where I told Chuck "Hey look at those guys they look like Green Lantern and I asked him to pose with them and here is the result of that. Really it was a add for shoes in a sport store in the said mall. Also when I went to leave for my first trip to Ecuador there was a Marvel movie about to be released in the united states it was called X-Men Origins Wolverine, well in that same mall where Chuck was posing with those heroes of footwear I saw this poster

at the movie theater and on my first day out shopping in the streets of Cuenca I happen to pick up a bootleg copy of it on DVD, this was two weeks before it was released in the United States. There is another Marvel movie coming out before I leave from here in Cuenca that I will try to get the Spanish/Ecuadorian version of it's poster if I get the chance. I will add the American version(s) that I got back at Christmas time from at (Columbia Center no less). What is it?, Well wait and see you shall,but before that in Cuenca super heroes are so popular I saw but didn't get two super cool things on my two thousand ten trip but I 'll keep my eye out for them. What they were was a blow up kid balloon of Bat-Man and a Superman shield bumper sticker on a car, (ah well I'm sure I'll find more American super heroes on this trip to photograph) I will say that I saw this cake design on one of Cuenca's many streets last year Pretty cool huh?, Well really this isn't a cake decoration but it was in a Cuenca party shop. I know that almost all of you know that last August that Disney brought Marvel and if this is your first time hearing this I'm glad that your reading it from the blog of someone who loves comics. Well look who my mother is posing with before that said August buy of Marvel how the heck was Mickey here in Cuenca Ecuador, well he was here to support an election. Did you know one thing I found out here in Cuenca is that super heroes sell laundry soap when they are broke , well Spidey does. Finally who is the hero in this picture is it my mom?,or is it Chuck?, or that clownly trash can on a Cuenca street.
I will let you be the one to decide who the hero is? Now who that aforementioned superhero movie poster is
IRON MAN 2, for now I can't find that (Columbia Center) but I will add it later and keep this one here as well.( I'm back home in the states, now I got back at seven thirtyish on Thursday, April twenty ninth. So I can now add that promised picture of the Iron Man2 poster from the Columbia Center mall so finally here it now is

Just a copule of days and I'm off again!

Well it is about to happen yet again, and boy am I ever ready for it? what is it your asking right because who would be excited about or around April 15th which is as we all know is Tax Time, when a lot us may have to pay the government for use of their money or they owe a lot of average people money. Last year was the first time my folks had invited me to come see them in Cuenca Ecuador they had decided to rent out their home here to a friend of my mother. Before we left we ate at a place called Two Bits & A Bite with a few of their friends from here in the Tri Cities, That green car in the parking lot is soon to be arriving in Saint Cloud Minnesota to help our family that lives there since they will be having new teenager drivers very soon. Since the events of 9/11 anyone traveling needs to arrive very early to the airport for check in. We had arrived at the airport at four thirty in the morning even though our flight didn't leave till at least six thirty, I had happen to catch the sun rising.(boy that's pretty sweet maybe you should check out that last post about Sunsets after you have read this?)It took us at least most of the day into the evening we actually got into the Ecuadorian airport in Guayaquil at eleven forty five at night. My mom and I waited here in the international gate for my step father to come though customs (that story will be talked about next blog posting). We stayed in Guayaquil just for one day but here are a few pictures I want to share with you here is the main park in town from our hotel window

Here are my folks in their apartment condo's kitchen, in Cuenca. This is what my folks living room looked like last time I was there, my mom told me that it is now furnished. I'll have to take a new look at this room and put it in the next posting too. Here I am at a restaurant called BQ when I heard my folk tell me it's name I first thought (Burger Queen something a comic book story would do to not get into trouble with Burger King or Dairy Queen) in their stories. Here is the river near my folks place after the rain,
right now it's there ma-soon time of the year . We went to the town square quite often to shop or even just to eat out.

While on this visit I was just learning how to use my new Digital Camera that I got from Costco before leaving home I happen to have one day while there in Cuenca at my folks place that I was testing many different settings on the camera and here's their back patio.

Sunsets: What about them is meaningful to you?

Yesterday for some reason I was thinking about all of my computer images I have of Sunsets while at work. I had got to thinking what is it about sunsets that fascinate us as the mere humans we are. Is it the beauty alone of the setting fireball known as the sun and where you witness it , or is it that the sun setting brings an end to a day that may have been good or bad but represents the start of a better tomorrow for us all? And to those with creative thoughts does it bring out more understanding what a beautiful planet we reside on?
I want to share with you for a moment some of the many great things I think about when I witness a beautiful sun set whether I'm at work or at home watching through my window blinds. One of the things I think most about is "God made this for all of us to see his great canvas how He'd like us all to get along as a loving caring type of race. Also to me it shows a time to be at ease with yourself in whatever your doing? Just take a moment to think if I were a writer or a poet what type of words will best express/describe how you see a sunset just looming when you look at the beginning onset of night. Do you wish the words would come so easy sometimes but yet you have none at all? The most important thing about any art form we have to remember is what we feel is most variable for the moment so if you feel like painting a sun set or drawing one you just recall that a setting sun is as important as a rising one better known as a sunrise to start a new day. Wherever you are can be just as imp activate as seeing a sun set you can be camping and see a great sun set on the river or be in your own hometown watching a local event and see a special one as well. Soon I'm going to be heading to go see my parents again in Cuenca Ecuador for a small while and you can bet I will try to get a Ecuadorian type of sunset captured on my camera as well as many others. Did Jesus have a super Power?

So does the man who fights all forms of eternal "EVIL",for us really have any super Powers, maybe after reading this you may or may not change your option yet you will have a moral understanding of the holiday called EASTER, or here's to hoping you will.... Have you ever wondered from when you are young how come we seem to think along the lines of Jesus the son of God seemed to have a Super Power?, well he did but not in the way of his all in compressing love for us all. I'll get to that point in a few minutes but which two holidays help us be reminded of that love? This first is CHRISTMAS a time when we celebrate his birth, but there is another day just as meaningful called EASTER, or as it's truly known Passover Sunday both days are meant for all of us to have a day of peace in our souls. For a lot of children it's seen as a day of gifts or chocolate Bunnies and a egg hunt. This past Sunday was EASTER I had spent it with my sister in law and her family there was a Big surprise

for all the kids in the way of a interactive story being told and eggs here contained parts

of that story to complete it. I think my nephew Cannon brought the house down to tears when he was playing with his colored egg pieces as seen here

,in fact it was Cannon who posed the question "Did Jesus have a super Power?" And of course most kids would believe you if you said "Yes well HE did in a way, but not like Superman or Spider-Man do for they are just made up, and Jesus is real by way of how HE was showing everyone the "HOW TO DOS, and the WHY THEY ARE PART OF EVERYDAY LIVING" so when a child you knows ask you these very questions don't say "I DON'T KNOW..." just tell the child it has to do with a meaning of life that you may find hard to talk about in understanding conversation that they too will understand, yet YOU DO KNOW it is about what and how you teach the meaning of life that matters most. To me though I guess I can say there was a super power of sorts, for before we headed over to my sister in law folks place we went to where I work at Albertson's to get a few things like paper plates and plastic silverware to eat a EASTER cake with when my sister in law spotted a REALLY COOL CAR that had a COOL design on the front hood no less. She said "Oh my gosh Matt you'll want to get a picture of that car's hood" and I remember saying "why what is on it?" she was pulling the car around and said "You'll see in a minute..." we had circled back around to close to where we had parked originally. There was a Red car and on it's front hood was this , I had gotten out of our car to take this and all that I can really say is that "Sometimes even EASTER can be for any adult just as much as it is for every kid you just need to know what kinda egg to look for and it's just as sweet as candy."

We all have one!

Hey there,
Do you know that in everybody's life that there is "ONE" day's just meant for you alone, and no your gender doesn't define this day. Well that's not really true it helps but that point is really moot for what I'm getting at? I happen to of had mine earlier this past week on the twenty fourth of this month of MARCH. Hey listen I'm sure that there must be someone you know a friend or a loved one that will be having his or hers any day now because these are Every Day. I'm talking about "ONE'S" BIRTHDAY, now I'm sure you think I'm going talk about only one aspect of a birthday from how I see it. Yes I will but I want to talk mostly about all aspects of a birthday not just what I think of one. Sometimes a baby is born to people who really want a offspring and all is fine through out the whole nine months but at birth a sad thing happens, the baby that has a hopeful future and a name "Brendi" or a boy name like "Peter" is born a stillborn is hurtful for sure. You'd feel like God wasn't fair to you because you've wanted a kid, but all he maybe saying is "For now I need you in a more important business of working in a unsafe area for others right now, I'll grant you your first child after this." Then there are people who have offspring that couldn't careless for the child and God seems to let them carry on in their lives, but if they are foolish a second time of something so bad God takes them away. What my point is here really is it doesn't matter if you live you life as YOU WANT or YOU LIVE YOUR life to how God wants we have to remember he is the one who grants us all life.
Sorry if I sounded Preachy for a moment there, but I had to get a way to show both sides of how life is for everybody in how it starts, rather bad or good. I do see in many people a good upbringing & like I also shared just the opposite. I hope that I never come across as a type of person who'll never find happiness one day when my child is born. I really know I don't, but a good lot times I've felt that way from time to time. This is really about everyone having a day for themselves called a birthday there are those out there who see aging or getting older as a negative thing should look at life as a famous line from a Tom Hanks movie- you know the one I'm talking about...where he says "Mommy always said life is..."well you know the rest. Even though I may miss my chance at love for one day at least I'm full of Joy about my own B-Day, I tell everybody I know hey you should have fun with you one day that's yours I do it by telling everyone I add a extra zero after my age. I have been doing it since I was thirty I was three hundred at that said time and now it's eight years later so how old am I? oh don't forget the zero whatever you do?

Happy GREEN DAY to you

Hey Everybody,
I hope you all remember what tomorrow is?, If not the color of this posting shall remind you or at least I do hope it will! I sure as heck am not talking about the musical band with that name, I hope that some you reading this do know that?, What tomorrow is for your important information is a little day known as Saint Patrick's Day. So Do any you know which superheroes won't get pinched tomorrow, well here is a small list of shall we say Green Guys that I am sure won't be pinched on any Saint Patrick's Day from one to ten. We will start with number ten and work up to number one with a small bit of information of each set of characters/character. Number 10: is the Green Hornet and his pal Kato: This a piece of art of them from the two thousand nine Benton County Fair.
Number 9: Are those famous mutant turtles who go by famous artists names: Leonardo, & Micheal Angelo, with two other turtles I'm sure you know them as well as I do. These turtles made waves in independent comics long before Image comics ever saw the light of day way back in 1986, through the presses of Dark Horse comics.
Number 8: is the Maritain ManHunter: All I really have known about this character is that he is part of a Detective Comics book called the Justice League and a cartoon series named Justice League unlimited on the Cartoon Network.
Number 7: is the Green Arrow: I also know very little of this other Detective Comics Justice Leaguer expect that he was in one of the earliest Detective comics cartoon series known as Challenge of the super friends back in the late seventies. Now I recently have seen him on the Superman series known as "Smallvile" vying for Lois Lane's affections to piss off a per Superman Clark Kent.
Number 6: is Savage Dragon: Ol' Dragon boy was created by one of Spider-Man's many artist in the late eighties. He is named Erik Larsen who was one of seven members of artists/writers whom founded Image comics. Number 5: is the "Jolly Green Giant": HA! it seems I happen to have you all baffled don't I?, How so you say well most you were thinking maybe I was going to put the Incredible Hulk on this list. Read on to find out where because yes he's here too somewhere. But ol where did he place?
Number 4: is Green Lantern:
How many of you know that there is more than just one Green Lantern? Did you even know that?, Well there's a whole corps of them and the one that most every one knows about is Hal Jordan but do you know the color they most fear? here's a hint the middle of a traffic light signal. Number3: is yes ol green skin better known as the Incredible Hulk: See he is on this green list after all but wouldn't he be number uno as comic characters go on any Saint patty list and not number three? well look at what happen to Kypronite boy whose thinking the same thing you tell me would you even think of pinching the Hulk? Number2: is my favorite comic book hero Spider-Man: "What the hey?" Did you and I both just find another secret about the "Parker luck"of Peter Parker's alter ego yep he's a leprechaun actually I think the right term would be on Saint Patrick's Day he's the amazing Spider-Leprechaun every other day of the year he's just Spider-Man. And now who could be the number one comic of this very list if all the real comic book super heroes have been chosen? Well number one is none other than:
Matt "the reprechan" a costumer's kid gave me that name last year. I guess it's because I was so in the spirits of the holiday where your to wear green. I hope this list has given you a laugh or maybe even a chuckle or two as you can see I love to have fun on the week before my own birthday which reminds me this year I'm going to be 380 years old! Happy St. patty day to all!

Does your own computer desktop reflect many aspects of you?

Hey All,
Are many you collectors of a image for your computer desktop or not?, Well to answer my own question here I do have a bunch of Desktop images better known as wallpaper. As you all know I have a lot of this fellow's images as wallpapers but of course I love comics in general so I of course collect other comic book characters type of images. I also love science fiction as much as I do comics. I have several images such as this one of an original made SCI-FI piece but there are wallpapers in cartoons that I love too. I grew up collecting the toy line of HE-MAN and the masters of the universe and I happen to have plenty of images from the eighties cartoon series , also a lot from that show about robots in disguise but I never collected them so much in toys as I did the most powerful man in the universe toys that was another name for HE-MAN. Those robots were known as TRANSFORMERS , in fact before liking American animation in cartoons I fell in love with what is known as Anime which is animation from Japan and in fact the TRANSFORMERS were from there originally. The Anime that brought me to loving that art form was known as Star Blazers here in the united states,
it was known as Space cruiser Yamato in Japan where it was started. Star Blazers came out in the late seventies along with another movie saga called Stare Wars, and Star Blazers also had some roots related to another SI-FI series of American lore that was created by a man known as Gene Roddenberry his addition of Star Trek, has lasted even way beyond his own death. I do believe as I said before your Desktop defines anyone who has a computer because at least for me I like to have a choice to change my Desktop from time to time. Also sometimes when you do go hunting for wallpapers for your computer's Desktop you may not realize how it came to you liking that said image as you double click your mouse to get it, here is what I currently have as my Desktop wallpaper see whoever made this wallpaper made sure it will help those who get it to be inspired to use their imaginations to building worlds of their own. I call this wallpaper "Worlds being built" and I see this as an artistic way of looking at each blog I make. At least for me the question's answer is a resounding "YES!" my computer Desktop does reflect who I am.
